About Us

Hi, I'm Jon and Whittle Works is in honor of my late grandfather, Les Whittle from Christchurch, New Zealand.

Les was an exceptional human being, a devoted family man, a businessman, an entrepreneur, an inventor, a man who designed the first articulated horse trailer in Christchurch in around 1960 which in turn, a design became integral in the NZ transport industry.

Poppa was someone I always looked up to, he had a brilliant mind, loved to tell stories and he always had infinite detail on all the things he built and how he came up with them, his attention to detail and passion for quality stuck with me all my life, so like him, let me bring your ideas to life!

I have been in around the performance and race car scene since 1995, I have worked on everything from Nissan Micras and Toyota Corollas through to Japanese, euro vehicles and Porsche GT3 Cup cars to name a few. I started off in Paraparaumu, mainly experimenting with Mazda Rotaries and engine conversions with my mates. I have a passion for anything automotive and fabrication, I like coming up with solutions for ideas or problems, "putting square pegs in rounds holes" and I love bringing your ideas into life through the design and fabrication process.
